Steven A. Wagoner is the Founder and Managing Principal of SteelVale Group, a private capital platform focused on investment and strategic advisory across businesses and real estate within the Sports & Entertainment, Living (multifamily), and Light Industrial sectors.
Mr. Wagoner leads the firm’s capital formation, investment strategy, and asset management. He focuses on long-term value creation in partnership with experienced operators and development partners.
He is also the Founder and Chairman of the Major League Development Association (MLDA), a vertically integrated sport management platform operating men’s and women’s senior teams in the National Premier Soccer League and USL W, including Virginia Atlantic FC. The organization operates elite youth academies participating in MLS NEXT and USL Academy.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Wagoner co-founded Nexus Street, a federal business development firm supporting enterprise programs with more than $250 million in annual revenue and over $2 billion in program value. He later co-founded Trade Atlantic, an investment platform focused on multi-unit retail franchise operations and related real estate development in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, culminating in a successful asset sale.
Mr. Wagoner serves on the Adult Council of the U.S. Soccer Federation and as Chairman of the National Premier Soccer League. He also serves on the Advisory Board of the College of Education and Human Development at George Mason University and is a member of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Wagoner holds a Master of Science in Finance, summa cum laude, from the Raymond A. Mason School of Business at the College of William & Mary and a Bachelor of Science from George Mason University. He has completed executive programs in Alternative Investments from Harvard Business School and Corporate Finance from the Raymond A. Mason School of Business.
Mr. Wagoner is based in Norfolk, Virginia and the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
